The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Godfredo Quinteros during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Los Delfines booed when Gaviotas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfredo Quinteros didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10 played minutes Los Delfines got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Domeka. Samuel Egun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ildefonso Ortle's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Roque Senio took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gavino Luke. Gavino Luke dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Godfredo Quinteros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samuel Egun read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Lino Elivareo charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lino Elivareo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Roque Senio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th match minute, Los Delfines was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquiles Santio to maneuver through the defense. Ildefonso Ortle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Egun having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

69 minutes into the game, Pedro Cresconio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Delfines's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gaviotas FC the free kick. A collision led to Los Delfines getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Pedro Cresconio hit a great ball. Gaviotas FC made a substitution. Damian Rufo replaced Fabricio Jakobe. Gaviotas FC's Ildefonso Ortle got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Gaviotas FC's Gavino Luke got control of the ball when Tomás Domeka tried to sneak it across the goal line. Los Delfines were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Gaviotas FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luis Ekhi took the corner. Alejandro Illan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samuel Egun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Ursino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Gaviotas FC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
