Spectators: 7658 (Terracing: 5745, Seating: 1761, VIP seats: 152) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jo Bag started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, SV Bad Harzburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maik Schmeltzer to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th match minute, SV Bad Harzburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thorsten Kristl to maneuver through the defense. Galati Harbour Cats's George Agachi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Galati Harbour Cats from getting a goal against them. Herwig Fehr took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised George Agachi. George Agachi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jo Bag in the 21st minute of play forced SV Bad Harzburg's goalkeeper Gerald Zapf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Galati Harbour Cats's Vali Ghețea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gerald Zapf made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 28 played minutes SV Bad Harzburg got a freekick which was hit by Herwig Fehr. In the 29th minute Vali Ghețea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerald Zapf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th match minute, Galati Harbour Cats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petruț Vlăsiu to maneuver through the defense. Vali Ghețea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. George Agachi was a little too slow when Wiggo Letsche got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 2-1. Galati Harbour Cats's Vali Ghețea got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of SV Bad Harzburg booed when Galati Harbour Cats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vali Ghețea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wiggo Letsche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Agachi having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, David Tamm took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for George Agachi to make any attempt to save it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wiggo Letsche to strike the kick off in the second half. Galati Harbour Cats's George Agachi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiggo Letsche in the 52nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SV Bad Harzburg's zone, Vali Ghețea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerald Zapf came out of the goal and Vali Ghețea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 57 minutes into the game, Galati Harbour Cats's Vali Ghețea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gerald Zapf made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. George Agachi came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by SV Bad Harzburg's Herwig Fehr. But to his dismay, Herwig Fehr quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Freddy Zahnleiter hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Galati Harbour Cats's Corneliu Hurmuzescu got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vali Ghețea blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gerald Zapf having to make a save. George Agachi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herwig Fehr in the 73rd minute of play. Vali Ghețea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerald Zapf read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. George Agachi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herwig Fehr in the 83rd minute of play. A collision led to SV Bad Harzburg getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Thorsten Kristl hit a great ball. In the 87th minute, Rouven Knabe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herwig Fehr struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. George Agachi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV Bad Harzburg. SV Bad Harzburg walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
