The AEK FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ole Lorentzen should have stopped the shot. After 23 played minutes Atletico Saladillo FC got a freekick which was hit by Alejandro Endura. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chris Bjørsvik during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ole Lorentzen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ambrosio Odon in the 26th minute of play. Gonzalo Niguel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sturle Ottersen went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 32 minutes into the match, Åge Undheim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gonzalo Niguel. Atletico Saladillo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Åge Undheim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ambrosio Odon in the 36th minute of play forced AEK FC's goalkeeper Ole Lorentzen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Teodoro Quilino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st match minute, AEK FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tor-Andre Halleland to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elpidio Quilino to make the kick off. The supporters of AEK FC booed when Atletico Saladillo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Endura didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Hansen in the 60th minute of play forced Atletico Saladillo FC's goalkeeper Gonzalo Niguel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, Ambrosio Odon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atletico Saladillo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. AEK FC's Ole Lorentzen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Quilino in the 74th minute of play. Ole Lorentzen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ambrosio Odon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-4 in the 75 minute of play. After some careless play in the AEK FC defense, Narciso Corderro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ole Lorentzen. After having played for 87 minutes, Ambrosio Odon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico Saladillo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ambrosio Odon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ole Lorentzen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ambrosio Odon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-6 in the 90 minute of play. If Åge Undheim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Sturle Ottersen had to leave the field with a concussion. After 96 minutes, Cayetano Berart mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico Saladillo FC and the AEK FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of Atletico Saladillo FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AEK FC:s goal. The referee gave AEK FC a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Åge Undheim, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Atletico Saladillo FC's Gonzalo Niguel. 3-6.
