The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Pär Abrahamsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Olof Zander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Turo Raninen in the 4th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 6 minutes, Samuel Pihkala successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Samuel Pihkala came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Lilla Jordberga BK's Håkan Joensson. But to his dismay, Håkan Joensson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Yrjänä Vihtilä kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Pär Abrahamsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Samuel Pihkala. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pär Abrahamsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Samuel Pihkala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pär Abrahamsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Aadolf Martikainen struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Sven-Olof Zander didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karhulan Veikot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Samuel Pihkala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pär Abrahamsson in the 51st minute of play. Karl-Erik Säf charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karl-Erik Säf the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Karhulan Veikot booed when Lilla Jordberga BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Erik Säf didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aadolf Martikainen got free with Sven-Olof Zander in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
