Torreoncito's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ernesto Guerola was shown his second yellow card after 30 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 30 played minutes Torreoncito got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Guerola. 34 minutes into the match, Torreoncito's goal looked a bit too open when Laurens Masculier came free, but Tanausu Granados reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfons Ceulemans was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 45th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 46th minute, Donato Arellano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Birger Struelens got free with Tanausu Granados in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tanausu Granados made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gregory Cappelsmans in the 62nd minute. FC Draconia's Jelle Roels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bautista Agnese in the 69th minute of play. In the 77th minute Birger Struelens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tanausu Granados saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
