In the 28th minute Marcial Sans suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Plaza Babys CF's Etxave Calvo was substituted for Marcial Sans. After 30 played minutes Plaza Babys CF got a freekick which was hit by Jordi Maestro. If Isidoro Shepherd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rigoberto Serena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carolo Alonso in the 36th minute of the match. Carolo Alonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd match minute, Plaza Babys CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis-Jose Zapatero to maneuver through the defense. Carolo Alonso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Rigoberto Serena made a huge save. In the 47th match minute, Plaza Babys CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Firmo Obis to maneuver through the defense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luis-Jose Zapatero to strike the kick off in the second half. Amancio Urtats was a little too slow when Jordi Maestro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 1-1. Osvaldo Tiniebra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Rigoberto Serena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Plaza Babys CF's Rigoberto Serena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carolo Alonso in the 80th minute of play. When Isidoro Shepherd came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the El Retorno de Palermo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isidoro Shepherd couldn't finish the play. Amancio Urtats made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xove Pujol in the 84th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Xove Pujol dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Amancio Urtats, 1-2. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see El Retorno de Palermo lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
