The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fiori Coutinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Matthew Edwards made a huge save. A collision led to Cambotinha EC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Antônio Eger hit a great ball. In the 37th minute Seb Newman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durvalino Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Fiori Coutinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

In the 54th match minute, Club Atlético de Newell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brendon Swanson to maneuver through the defense. If Fiori Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Antônio Eger fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Matthew Edwards took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fiori Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jerome Groom was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 84 minutes had been played. The supporters of Cambotinha EC booed when Club Atlético de Newell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerome Groom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Seb Newman kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Antônio Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cambotinha EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Antônio Eger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matthew Edwards breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Cambotinha EC's Durvalino Dracena got control of the ball when Zackary Dixon tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cambotinha EC had won after a very even match.
