When Jay Holmes fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético de Newell's protests and gave Jay Holmes a yellow card for diving instead. Jay Holmes kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 7th minute, Club Atlético de Newell's Jerome Groom dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Barrie Lester took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Prudencio Librado. Prudencio Librado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Seb Newman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adrian Quexal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Club Atlético de Newell's Jay Holmes got his second yellow card of the match in the 33rd minute. The referee ordered Jay Holmes off the ground. Jay Holmes hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the game, Jerome Groom was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético de Newell's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Amapola the free kick. A collision led to Club Atlético de Newell getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Jerome Groom hit a great ball. Matthew Edwards made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristobal Roland in the 45th minute of play.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jerome Groom stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Saverio Kepa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 55 played minutes Club Atlético de Newell got a freekick which was hit by Philip Bakewell. Marcial Aritza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 58thth minute tested the skills of Matthew Edwards when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Amapola's Cristobal Roland got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute, Seb Newman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atlético de Newell fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Jerome Groom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Prudencio Librado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 83 minutes, Cayetano Cebo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Amapola and the Club Atlético de Newell players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 83 played minutes Amapola got a freekick which was hit by Cayetano Cebo. The supporters of Amapola booed when Club Atlético de Newell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seb Newman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Philip Bakewell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Prudencio Librado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Philip Bakewell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Prudencio Librado. Amapola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Philip Bakewell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Club Atlético de Newell's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
