Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronni Arnov in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Korhan Yahya prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lavrits Bjørnfalk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hızır Dicle in the 5th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the match, ATOWN's goal looked a bit too open when Göktuğ Yücealp came free, but Lavrits Bjørnfalk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hızır Dicle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Trabzonspor's Hızır Dicle slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lavrits Bjørnfalk. That made the score 1-0 after 13 minutes of play. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Trabzonspor! The supporters of Trabzonspor booed when ATOWN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teddi Sobottke didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Göktuğ Yücealp came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Trabzonspor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Göktuğ Yücealp couldn't finish the play. When Arne Andrijeska fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ATOWN's protests and gave Arne Andrijeska a yellow card for diving instead. 35 minutes into the game, Trabzonspor's Muhammet Özinal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lavrits Bjørnfalk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 38th minute, Muhammet Özinal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in ATOWN's zone, Aykut Kutluay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lavrits Bjørnfalk came out of the goal and Aykut Kutluay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Göktuğ Yücealp in the 43rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lavrits Bjørnfalk, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Aykut Kutluay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Göktuğ Yücealp stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Trabzonspor's Göktuğ Yücealp in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Göktuğ Yücealp in the 67th minute of play forced ATOWN's goalkeeper Lavrits Bjørnfalk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lavrits Bjørnfalk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Göktuğ Yücealp, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute.
