The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th match minute, Juventus Argentina FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horacio Edwardo to maneuver through the defense. David Mocanu, 9 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 10 minutes into the match, Marin Pietreanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernabe Vito. Juventus Argentina FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marin Pietreanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Igor Ramond struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Johnny Visch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juventus Argentina FC. Johnny Visch didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bonifacio Ixona went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Eriberto Oidor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phoenix Strikers's Johnny Visch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atilano Monico in the 26th minute of play. Johnny Visch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Ramond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the match, Phoenix Strikers's goal looked a bit too open when Bonifacio Ixona came free, but Johnny Visch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Eriberto Oidor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marin Pietreanu charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marin Pietreanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 37 played minutes Phoenix Strikers got a freekick which was hit by Marin Pietreanu. 41 minutes into the match, Igor Ramond had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Johnny Visch. Phoenix Strikers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Igor Ramond was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some careless play in the Juventus Argentina FC defense, Eduard Boroș kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernabe Vito. The Juventus Argentina FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernabe Vito should have stopped the shot. After having played for 59 minutes, Ion Africano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phoenix Strikers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ion Africano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marin Pietreanu was shown his second yellow card after 62 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 67 played minutes Phoenix Strikers got a freekick which was hit by David Mocanu. Johnny Visch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Ramond, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Igor Ramond could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Johnny Visch made a huge save. Cazimir Ceaușu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, David Mocanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Despite being the better team, Juventus Argentina FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
