The referee ignored Phoenix Strikers's protests and gave Denis Brânzaș a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd match minute, Phoenix Strikers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Brânzaș to maneuver through the defense. Jailson Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 7th minute Jailson Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isac Spirea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denis Brânzaș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 9 minutes into the match, FC VERDE-AMARELO PORCO's goal looked a bit too open when Nistor Curcă came free, but Umberto Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the FC VERDE-AMARELO PORCO defense, Nistor Curcă kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Umberto Torres. The FC VERDE-AMARELO PORCO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Umberto Torres should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Phoenix Strikers booed when FC VERDE-AMARELO PORCO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jailson Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Nistor Curcă made a precise shot to the right of Umberto Torres. FC VERDE-AMARELO PORCO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 22nd minute, Jailson Trigo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Isac Spirea. The goal made the score 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Phoenix Strikers's zone, Jailson Trigo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isac Spirea came out of the goal and Jailson Trigo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júnior Soeiro got free with Isac Spirea in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cazimir Ceaușu's late challenge caught a FC VERDE-AMARELO PORCO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cazimir Ceaușu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Phoenix Strikers's Cazimir Ceaușu got a free kick in the 31st minute. Júnior Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Isac Spirea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 37th minute of the match Denis Brânzaș completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Denis Brânzaș a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Denis Brânzaș hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Nistor Curcă charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nistor Curcă the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Phoenix Strikers getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Nistor Curcă hit a great ball. Jailson Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Isac Spirea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jailson Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
After a defensive mix-up in FC VERDE-AMARELO PORCO's zone, Nistor Curcă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Umberto Torres came out of the goal and Nistor Curcă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Umberto Torres successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Isac Spirea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jailson Trigo in the 57th minute of play. Marin Pietreanu charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marin Pietreanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marin Pietreanu kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. When Nistor Curcă was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 62 minutes had been played. After 62 played minutes Phoenix Strikers got a freekick which was hit by Nistor Curcă. In the 67th minute, Gino Berger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Umberto Torres didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cazimir Ceaușu went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. In the 74thth minute of the game Júnior Soeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Phoenix Strikers's Isac Spirea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Phoenix Strikers's Isac Spirea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júnior Soeiro in the 76th minute of play. Jailson Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Isac Spirea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isac Spirea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Júnior Soeiro's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Isac Spirea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jailson Trigo in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson Trigo in the 87th minute of play forced Phoenix Strikers's goalkeeper Isac Spirea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Phoenix Strikers getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Marin Pietreanu hit a great ball. Isac Spirea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jailson Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The supporters of Phoenix Strikers booed when FC VERDE-AMARELO PORCO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gino Berger didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Phoenix Strikers supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Phoenix Strikers would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
