Spectators: 7564 (Terracing: 5674, Seating: 1739, VIP seats: 151) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Zbyszko Duda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 34th minute Dobromir Fafinski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermann Althaus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Knut Meckelburg's late challenge caught a Purple Shadows's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Knut Meckelburg helped the player get up and apologised. Zbyszko Duda didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Knut Kuschel went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Knut Kuschel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Purple Shadows's Zbyszek Bronkala got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After 54 played minutes Möhnsen FC got a freekick which was hit by Jes Klanthe. Hermann Althaus made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Zula Scislowicz sent off a good shot on target. Möhnsen FC's Hermann Althaus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Möhnsen FC from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Dobromir Fafinski took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Hermann Althaus to make any attempt to save it. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Purple Shadows walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
