But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jânio de Barros couldn't finish the play. Telmo Tasso charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Telmo Tasso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 23 played minutes Willy Brown FC got a freekick which was hit by Ceferino Lonzo. Hernan Oso hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Luiz Gustavo Eger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melquiades Xabier in the 30th minute of the match. Fabio Pasqual took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jânio de Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Hernan Oso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabio Pasqual showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jânio de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute, Romário Nóbrega left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Templários MZC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Omar Patxi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Gustavo Eger having to interfere. Luiz Gustavo Eger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Romildo in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jânio de Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Templários MZC's Luiz Gustavo Eger got control of the ball when Omar Patxi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fabio Pasqual made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jânio de Barros in the 58th minute of play. When Romário Nóbrega came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Templários MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romário Nóbrega couldn't finish the play. In the 67th minute, Caco Valadares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Omar Patxi, 68 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 83 minutes into the game, Templários MZC's Germano Loyola nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabio Pasqual made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Romário Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Pasqual having to interfere. Fabio Pasqual made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Germano Loyola in the 91st minute of play.
