Spectators: 7498 (Terracing: 5624, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 149) Corinthians's Víktor Sarmento started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Corinthians's goalkeeper Delfim Diniz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 6th minute, Christian Meys left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brugge United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Corinthians's zone, Samuel Vervoort stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Delfim Diniz came out of the goal and Samuel Vervoort tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Corinthians's Delfim Diniz got control of the ball when Christian Meys tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Brugge United booed when Corinthians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Brugge United's Christian Meys slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Delfim Diniz. That made the score 3-0 after 30 minutes of play. Samuel Vervoort sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Christian Meys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goalkeeper Delfim Diniz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christian Meys. Delfim Diniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jochen Diericx in the 46th minute of the match.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christian Meys in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Delfim Diniz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Brugge United's Jochen Diericx got a free kick in the 74th minute. Delfim Diniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Meys in the 76th minute of the match. Samuel Vervoort struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Delfim Diniz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brugge United. Arnold Wyns struck a weak shot in the 85th minute.
