Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Deimantas Valys made the kick off and thus started the match. With an all-out effort, Geležinis Vilkas's Flavio Madaleno threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Deimantas Valys, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 7 minutes into the match, Newton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Deimantas Valys came free, but Flavio Madaleno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geležinis Vilkas's Daugirdas Leonaitis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Astor Frichoso in the 10th minute of play. Geležinis Vilkas's Aldas Saulis got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 13 minutes into the game, Deimantas Valys recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Flavio Madaleno. Deimantas Valys showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Godfredo Paul lost his temper 18 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 20th minute, Aldas Saulis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Geležinis Vilkas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. When Astor Frichoso fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newton FC's protests and gave Astor Frichoso a yellow card for diving instead. Astor Frichoso hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aldas Saulis got free with Flavio Madaleno in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Deimantas Valys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emiliano Poz was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Geležinis Vilkas's zone, Astor Frichoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daugirdas Leonaitis came out of the goal and Astor Frichoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Deimantas Valys received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Flavio Madaleno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Astor Frichoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Daugirdas Leonaitis made a huge save. Daugirdas Leonaitis made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Emiliano Poz sent off a good shot on target. Daugirdas Leonaitis was a little too slow when Emiliano Poz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 2-1. After having played for 73 minutes, Deimantas Valys managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geležinis Vilkas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Deimantas Valys was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Deimantas Valys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gabriel Cresenciano struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Daugirdas Leonaitis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newton FC. Flavio Madaleno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldas Saulis in the 97th minute of play. Geležinis Vilkas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
