Zeferino Igrejas was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Edmondo De Lorenzi showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 2 minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Campus Douro Academy fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 4th minute. Penalty! Zeferino Igrejas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ciro Di Martino in the 9th minute. After 12 minutes of play, Campus Douro Academy's Teodoro Caiado made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Beppe Cannavacciuolo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Beppe Cannavacciuolo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Caiado in the 15th minute of the match. The supporters of Campus Douro Academy booed when Montesacro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmondo De Lorenzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Celso Cesário hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zeferino Igrejas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmondo De Lorenzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emiliano Sciascia kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Beppe Cannavacciuolo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Caiado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Montesacro FC's Beppe Cannavacciuolo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Montenegro in the 21st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciro Di Martino got free with Zeferino Igrejas in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Beppe Cannavacciuolo came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Campus Douro Academy's Teodoro Caiado. But to his dismay, Teodoro Caiado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After some careless play in the Montesacro FC defense, Frederico Aguiar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Beppe Cannavacciuolo. The Montesacro FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Beppe Cannavacciuolo should have stopped the shot. After 40 minutes, Daniele Tabacco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montesacro FC and the Campus Douro Academy players grew even worse after the yellow card. Beppe Cannavacciuolo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Óscar Andrade made a precise shot to the right of Beppe Cannavacciuolo. Montesacro FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. After the first half Campus Douro Academy were leading 2-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Montesacro FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Ciccio Panella hit a great ball. Óscar Andrade struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Beppe Cannavacciuolo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Campus Douro Academy. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Caiado in the 56th minute of play forced Montesacro FC's goalkeeper Beppe Cannavacciuolo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Frederico Aguiar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Beppe Cannavacciuolo. Montesacro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frederico Aguiar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-5. 62 minutes into the match, Montesacro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Noel Montenegro came free, but Beppe Cannavacciuolo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel Montenegro in the 67th minute of play forced Montesacro FC's goalkeeper Beppe Cannavacciuolo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Beppe Cannavacciuolo made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Óscar Andrade sent off a good shot on target. Ciro Di Martino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeferino Igrejas having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Montesacro FC's goalkeeper Beppe Cannavacciuolo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frederico Aguiar. Beppe Cannavacciuolo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Montenegro in the 80th minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Óscar Andrade cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-7. Beppe Cannavacciuolo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Óscar Andrade might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Beppe Cannavacciuolo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Óscar Andrade ran back to his position shaking his head. Beppe Cannavacciuolo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodoro Caiado, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. With a little luck, Montesacro FC's Beppe Cannavacciuolo got control of the ball when Óscar Andrade tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 91st match minute, Montesacro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emiliano Sciascia to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute Edmondo De Lorenzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeferino Igrejas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
