Omar Bartuelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Ixaka in the 14th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, RIVER's goal looked a bit too open when Julio Peru came free, but Narciso Jerrald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Peru hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Omar Bartuelo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gerardo Ixaka showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Anselmo Esdras dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Omar Bartuelo, 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Anselmo Esdras made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Vellito in the 56th minute of play forced RIVER's goalkeeper Narciso Jerrald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, RIVER's Narciso Jerrald got control of the ball when Julio Peru tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Omar Bartuelo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Higinio Nofre in the 92nd minute of play forced Defensores de Mar de Ajó's goalkeeper Omar Bartuelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Anselmo Esdras fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RIVER's protests and gave Anselmo Esdras a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Defensores de Mar de Ajó booed when RIVER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Esdras didn't get a good kick on the ball. Urbano Felipillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
