When Karol Kolbe fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zacisze Częstochowa's protests and gave Karol Kolbe a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Zacisze Częstochowa fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Academia Rio a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Horia Berceanu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Zacisze Częstochowa's Wawrzyniec Oborski. 0-1. Zacisze Częstochowa's Wawrzyniec Oborski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sever Vintilescu in the 10th minute of play. In the 13th minute Iulian Negulescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wawrzyniec Oborski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horia Berceanu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wawrzyniec Oborski. Zacisze Częstochowa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Academia Rio booed when Zacisze Częstochowa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zbigniew Penkalski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wawrzyniec Oborski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sever Vintilescu's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sever Vintilescu in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wawrzyniec Oborski saved Zacisze Częstochowa from getting behind. Wawrzyniec Oborski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iulian Negulescu in the 24th minute of play. After 27 played minutes Academia Rio got a freekick which was hit by Cezar Jder. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Iurie Mutu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 35th minute, Zbigniew Penkalski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 52 played minutes Zacisze Częstochowa got a freekick which was hit by Karol Kolbe. Horia Berceanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Wawrzyniec Oborski made a huge save. János Oltean charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed János Oltean the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th match minute, Academia Rio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by János Oltean to maneuver through the defense. Filip Kon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iurie Mutu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Zacisze Częstochowa's Wieslaw Wiater sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iurie Mutu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sever Vintilescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Wawrzyniec Oborski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 70 played minutes Zacisze Częstochowa got a freekick which was hit by Michal Mudry. In the 74th minute, Walery Adamowicz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Zacisze Częstochowa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a rather tough play, Academia Rio's Horia Berceanu got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes into the match, Zacisze Częstochowa's Zbigniew Penkalski broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 86thth minute of the game János Oltean who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zacisze Częstochowa's Wawrzyniec Oborski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Academia Rio's Iulian Negulescu got a free kick in the 87th minute. Iulian Negulescu struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Wawrzyniec Oborski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academia Rio. Academia Rio's Iurie Mutu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filip Kon in the 96th minute of play.
