An unexpectedly hard shot by Costel Dorineanu in the 11th minute of play forced U. de Tarapacá's goalkeeper Fidelio Herboso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th match minute, U. de Tarapacá was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Irisarri to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th match minute, U. de Tarapacá was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Alberto Alonso to maneuver through the defense. FC Buzău's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodor Pârcălab was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fidelio Herboso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Leonard Dabija kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fidelio Herboso. That made the score 2-1 in the 39 minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Rodrigo Astudillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, FC Buzău's Fidelio Herboso threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Albert Andrieșanu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 46 minutes into the game, Albert Andrieșanu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Fidelio Herboso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

In the 55th minute, U. de Tarapacá's Javier Carreto seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Javier Carreto the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of U. de Tarapacá protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Javier Carreto had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Odol Bianchi charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Odol Bianchi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. FC Buzău made a substitution. Cosmin Leucuța replaced Florin Barascu. The supporters of FC Buzău booed when U. de Tarapacá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Odol Bianchi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes in the game, Costel Dorineanu dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 68 minutes into the match, U. de Tarapacá's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Andrieșanu came free, but Fidelio Herboso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute Costel Dorineanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidelio Herboso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Buzău fully deserved thier win.
