U. de Tarapacá's Elton Tin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Lundhberg in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Christer Termander made a precise shot to the right of Elton Tin. U. de Tarapacá's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 13 played minutes BK Värdsholmen got a freekick which was hit by Birger Ekgren. After a defensive mix-up in BK Värdsholmen's zone, José Alberto Alonso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eddie Alström came out of the goal and José Alberto Alonso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 21 minutes into the game, when Raúl Gorriti put in a rough tackle. Elton Tin had in the 23rdth minute some difficulties stopping Birger Ekgren's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Eddie Alström was a little too slow when Miren Guilisasti got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 1-1. If Bartolomé Romero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Odol Bianchi hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Miren Guilisasti made the kick off in the second half. Eddie Alström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartolomé Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Eddie Alström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miren Guilisasti in the 62nd minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, BK Värdsholmen's Karl Ferm nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elton Tin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After having played for 70 minutes, Karl Ferm managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BK Värdsholmen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl Ferm was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elton Tin made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Verner Helström sent off a good shot on target. 74 minutes into the match, U. de Tarapacá's goalkeeper Elton Tin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christer Termander. Bo Broman hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. A collision led to U. de Tarapacá getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Emanuel Pozo hit a great ball. Emanuel Pozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddie Alström having to interfere. The supporters of U. de Tarapacá booed when BK Värdsholmen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Hedman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the BK Värdsholmen defense, Ismael Irisarri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eddie Alström. The BK Värdsholmen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eddie Alström should have stopped the shot.
