The supporters of Deportivo Peñarol FIFV booed when Forever Tango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Feliciano Fraco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Washington Aguerre had great luck who in the 13thth minute grab hold of the ball when Generoso Osoro from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Washington Aguerre made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elvio Pelagius in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the game, Niceto Urritz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Washington Aguerre. Niceto Urritz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Marcelo Zalayeta's late challenge caught a Forever Tango's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcelo Zalayeta helped the player get up and apologised. Eleuterio Cordeara helped the player get up and apologised. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
