Spectators: 7741 (Terracing: 5807, Seating: 1780, VIP seats: 154) October 04's Wesley Teles started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 7 played minutes October 04 got a freekick which was hit by Tião Amaral. Ruy Lira charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruy Lira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ruy Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Diego de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Madeo in the 11th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Rogelio Madeo took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Diego de Toledo to make any attempt to save it. 17 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio Senna came free, but Enrique Urtsin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute Wesley Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Urtsin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Mateo Gonzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When October 04's Wesley Teles in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vélez Juniors's goalie prevented a goal. Enrique Urtsin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Teles in the 28th minute of the match. After having played for 36 minutes, Damaso Playo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vélez Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damaso Playo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute Damaso Playo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd match minute, Vélez Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvio Firme to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th match minute, October 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabinho Falcão to maneuver through the defense.

A collision led to October 04 getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Duarte Barbosa hit a great ball. In the 58th minute Damaso Playo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diego de Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Madeo, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Vélez Juniors's Enrique Urtsin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wesley Teles in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute, October 04's Wesley Teles ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Enrique Urtsin. Enrique Urtsin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. A collision led to Vélez Juniors getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Mateo Gonzo hit a great ball. When Florentino Gaspard came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Vélez Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florentino Gaspard couldn't finish the play. Claudinho Antunes might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enrique Urtsin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudinho Antunes ran back to his position shaking his head. After 79 minutes, Wesley Teles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the October 04 and the Vélez Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. Diego de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Madeo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mateo Gonzo kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. The long shot by Toni Ramos in the 84th minute really tested Enrique Urtsin's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Diego de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florentino Gaspard in the 88th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Paulo Paes came free, but Enrique Urtsin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in October 04's zone, Florentino Gaspard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego de Toledo came out of the goal and Florentino Gaspard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diego de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damaso Playo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The October 04 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
