Itajaí Football Club's Flávio Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nereo Fuentes in the 25th minute of play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anselmo Madureira to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes Valleslona F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Bernal Camino. Baraquiel Naranjo hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 59 minutes into the match, Valleslona F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Wiliam Quintal came free, but Osoro Titos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nereo Fuentes in the 64th minute of play forced Itajaí Football Club's goalkeeper Flávio Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Angel Santalla came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Valleslona F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angel Santalla couldn't finish the play. The Valleslona F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5.
