Dida Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andaka Cueto, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andaka Cueto was the one to do the kick off. Proteu's Dida Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andaka Cueto in the 51st minute of play. Joel Amaro's late challenge caught a Proteu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 82ndth minute of the game Gugu Tasso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Delta FS's Yuri Souto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adolfo Ramalho during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Delta FS's Adolfo Ramalho got a free kick in the 89th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gugu Tasso in the 91st minute of play forced Delta FS's goalkeeper Yuri Souto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Proteu's Yuri Souto threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gugu Tasso, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Delta FS's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
