Camillo Caniglia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 3 minutes into the match. After 2 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for A.S. Udinese! A.S. Udinese:s Donato Lucidi showed great skill when he stopped Augusto das Neves:s penalty. Milanis E.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Anfilogino Di Crescenzo scored to the left of an out of position Jacinto de Azevedo, making the score, 1-0. After 11 played minutes Milanis E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Elivélton da Silva. Frank Di Salvatore hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, Ronaldão Mazza notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of A.S. Udinese's Donato Lucidi. Donato Lucidi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Donato Lucidi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Carlos da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute Ronaldão Mazza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Lucidi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st match minute, Milanis E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Pombal to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 32 in the game by Anfilogino Di Crescenzo from a close distance when the talented Jacinto de Azevedo managed to make a qualified save. Milanis E.C.'s players were relieved. After 35 minutes, Amos Galdi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A.S. Udinese and the Milanis E.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, A.S. Udinese's Amos Galdi got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 40 played minutes A.S. Udinese got a freekick which was hit by Amos Galdi. 42 minutes into the match, Milanis E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Biagio Balestra came free, but Jacinto de Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute of the match A.S. Udinese got a corner. Milanis E.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Enrico De Simone ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Amos Galdi heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júlio Pombal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Biagio Balestra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacinto de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Biagio Balestra in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute A.S. Udinese were awarded a corner. Enrico De Simone went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 62nd minute, Júlio Pombal fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 66th minute of the match, Júlio Pombal tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Donato Lucidi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Maicon Recife hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Biagio Balestra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A.S. Udinese's Fausto Vani was substituted for Camillo Corna. A.S. Udinese's Armin Abbagnale was substituted for Biagio Balestra.
