The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Kalatakaya F.C.'s Espiridion Abecia got control of the ball when Panagiotis Maragos tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 9th minute, Loreto Abaurre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Soulis Zacharas kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Theofanis Tseberlidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loreto Abaurre in the 15th minute of the match. Panagiotis Maragos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Espiridion Abecia came out and tried to block the shot, but Panagiotis Maragos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 17th minute. After having played for 20 minutes, Antonis Kavazis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GREEN LIONS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antonis Kavazis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute, Arotza Abajas made a precise shot to the right of Theofanis Tseberlidis. GREEN LIONS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Theofanis Tseberlidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arotza Abajas in the 46th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arotza Abajas to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Loreto Abaurre got free with Theofanis Tseberlidis in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the GREEN LIONS defense, Arotza Abajas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Theofanis Tseberlidis. The GREEN LIONS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Theofanis Tseberlidis should have stopped the shot. After 56 played minutes Kalatakaya F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Loreto Abaurre. Theofanis Tseberlidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Etxahun Abastas in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute, GREEN LIONS's Alekos Niniadis seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alekos Niniadis the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of GREEN LIONS protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alekos Niniadis had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Alekos Niniadis kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Kalatakaya F.C.'s Dantel Abaunza broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Arotza Abajas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theofanis Tseberlidis having to interfere. Panagiotis Maragos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Espiridion Abecia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th match minute, GREEN LIONS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonis Kavazis to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, GREEN LIONS's goalkeeper Theofanis Tseberlidis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Loreto Abaurre. In the 77th match minute, GREEN LIONS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petros Gogolos to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Panagiotis Maragos in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Espiridion Abecia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 82 minutes into the match, Arotza Abajas notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of GREEN LIONS's Theofanis Tseberlidis. Theofanis Tseberlidis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Antonis Kavazis's late challenge caught a Kalatakaya F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antonis Kavazis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th match minute, GREEN LIONS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonis Kavazis to maneuver through the defense. When Ferrer Abaunza fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kalatakaya F.C.'s protests and gave Ferrer Abaunza a yellow card for diving instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Kalatakaya F.C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
