The audience was convinced that Josef Slepička's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chris Lang was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. In the 15th minute, Martin Zinsli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Josef Slepička hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnold Petřek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Zinsli in the 28th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Karsten Eggers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Josef Winkler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Lang having to interfere. In the 41st minute FC Kopeto were awarded a corner. Miroslav Koňařík went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 41st minute, Josef Slepička hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Josef Slepička had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

With a little luck, Olympique Fribourg's Chris Lang got control of the ball when Josef Slepička tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 53rd minute FC Kopeto were awarded a corner. Miroslav Koňařík went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Miroslav Koňařík got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Chris Lang quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Chris Lang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josef Winkler, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After 59 minutes, Luis Nietlispach mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olympique Fribourg and the FC Kopeto players grew even worse after the yellow card. Olympique Fribourg's Chris Lang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josef Winkler in the 62nd minute of play. When Josef Slepička came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the FC Kopeto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josef Slepička couldn't finish the play. A collision led to FC Kopeto getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Josef Slepička hit a great ball. When Josef Slepička came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the FC Kopeto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josef Slepička couldn't finish the play. After 89 minutes, Josef Slepička made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Olympique Fribourg's Chris Lang tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Josef Slepička in the 96thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Chris Lang, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Kopeto walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
