Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 153) Olympique Fribourg's Blaise Näf started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sepp Gerig hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Chris Lang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pau Nas Canelas's Tiago Coimbra suffered a concussion after 12 minutes and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Josef Gladu during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Olympique Fribourg's Chris Lang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Maltez in the 13th minute of play. Blaise Näf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute, Karsten Eggers made a precise shot to the right of Valter Leme. Pau Nas Canelas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Olympique Fribourg's Chris Lang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Souto in the 35th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Blaise Näf got free with Valter Leme in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 46 minutes into the game, Olympique Fribourg's Blaise Näf nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valter Leme made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Salvado to make the kick off. Sepp Gerig kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Olympique Fribourg's Vincenzo Veterini got a free kick in the 56th minute. With 61 minutes on the clock, António Guterres commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When Bruno Salvado fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pau Nas Canelas's protests and gave Bruno Salvado a yellow card for diving instead. Bruno Salvado kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Mário Maltez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pau Nas Canelas's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
