Zeledon Quintyn's late challenge caught a Zorros del Desierto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zeledon Quintyn helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, La Candela FC's Zeledon Quintyn got a free kick in the 31st minute. When Jacobo Oalo fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Candela FC's protests and gave Jacobo Oalo a yellow card for diving instead. Jacobo Oalo hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the match, Zorros del Desierto's Samo Rano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgard Guillen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Edgard Guillen. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Leonel Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Reyes, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After a rather tough play, Zorros del Desierto's Saturnino Albrecht got a free kick in the 55th minute. Mariano Cordaro shot from long distance in the 56th minute, but Leonel Santana was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. When the match clock showed 63 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Lucas Reyes sped through Zorros del Desierto's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leonel Santana. Zorros del Desierto made a substitution. Rodolfo Aranda replaced Samo Rano. Ciro Marin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Leonel Santana made a huge save. Leonel Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Reyes in the 78th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerry Maguire in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgard Guillen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 85th minute, Lucas Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. La Candela FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
