Odysseus De Souza scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of João Paulo Urbano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Paulo Urbano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tade Zeller lost his temper 27 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 27th minute, one of FC Lugano:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Lugano. Natanael Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Max Sevier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrique Trigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florian Diederich hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Max Sevier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique Trigo in the 39th minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Lugano's Palmiro Brennwald got a free kick in the 40th minute. After a defensive mix-up in S.C. Reis United's zone, Matteo Gartenmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Paulo Urbano came out of the goal and Matteo Gartenmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half FC Lugano were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Rafa Mello made the kick off in the second half. FC Lugano's Max Sevier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafa Mello in the 51st minute of play. After having played for 55 minutes, Henrique Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.C. Reis United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Trigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 59 minutes, Natanael Maranhense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.C. Reis United and the FC Lugano players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th match minute, S.C. Reis United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natanael Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. Max Sevier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafa Mello in the 61st minute of the match.
