With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walmir Leme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Venceslás Sánchez in the 13th minute of play forced Lupere FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Walmir Leme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Laudrup received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Walmir Leme came out and tried to block the shot, but Miguel Laudrup slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Augusto Mineiro in the 27th minute of play forced Boomer Fc's goalkeeper Vicente Villa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vicente Villa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute Gonçalo Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Villa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Lupere FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Jorginho Madureira hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gonçalo Baptista to strike the kick off in the second half. If Flavinho Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Candelario Gabas's late challenge caught a Lupere FC - DMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Candelario Gabas helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lupere FC - DMZ booed when Boomer Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Candelario Gabas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Lupere FC - DMZ's Jardel Guimarães got a free kick in the 55th minute. Lupere FC - DMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boomer Fc the free kick. In the 73rd match minute, Lupere FC - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Augusto Mineiro to maneuver through the defense.
