Moussa Kabre went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Marquês de Herval's corner German Cano fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jacob Josef Zurflüh quite easily take care of the ball. Jacob Josef Zurflüh was a little too slow when German Cano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 28th minute Lukas Kathan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulrich Ilic in the 33rd minute of the match. Dersim FC were furious when Ralph Zinsli was red carded, 36 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Moussa Kabre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
