With his leg Marcelo Reno managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Leo Lore fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Leo Lore had several of the Echegoyen AFC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 75 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-7 score and a disappointed Marcelo Reno as he didn't even see the shot coming. 79 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Hermengildo Cordeara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcelo Reno narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A well placed Hermengildo Cordeara short distance shot in the 84th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. The audience was convinced that Hermengildo Cordeara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Reno was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Marcelo Reno came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Hermengildo Cordeara. But to his dismay, Hermengildo Cordeara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-9. When the match was over NEWELL´S OLD BOYS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Echegoyen AFC throughout the match.
