Fabien Lafont took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavian Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Uwe Ziege took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiberiu Tatomir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiberiu Tatomirs short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Uwe Ziege to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mark Vallin in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Uwe Ziege prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 18 minutes, Mark Vallin made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiberiu Tatomir got free with Uwe Ziege in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Uwe Ziege played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiberiu Tatomir in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Panopticon 04's goal looked a bit too open when Octavian Basten came free, but Fabien Lafont reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Uwe Ziege was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 36 minutes into the match, Panopticon 04's goal looked a bit too open when Octavian Basten came free, but Fabien Lafont reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabien Lafont made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavian Basten in the 37th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gilbert Brandt during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gilbert Brandt hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 41st match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mesut Özil to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute, Tiberiu Tatomir left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panopticon 04 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tiberiu Tatomir was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Rot-Weiss-Essen's zone, Tiberiu Tatomir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Uwe Ziege came out of the goal and Tiberiu Tatomir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fabien Lafont came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Rot-Weiss-Essen's Hugo Haupt. But to his dismay, Hugo Haupt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Octavian Basten got free with Fabien Lafont in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Fabien Lafont successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Tiberiu Tatomir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute Hugo Haupt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Lafont saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Hugo Haupt got a free kick in the 79th minute. Fabien Lafont made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Hugo Haupt sent off a good shot on target. Panopticon 04's Fabien Lafont played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mesut Özil in the 83rd minute of play. With a little luck, Panopticon 04's Fabien Lafont got control of the ball when Hugo Haupt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiberiu Tatomir in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Uwe Ziege prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 87 minutes of play Panopticon 04's Gilbert Brandt was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Tiberiu Tatomir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uwe Ziege having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavian Basten in the 93rd minute of play forced Panopticon 04's goalkeeper Fabien Lafont to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the game, Kryspin Banach was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rot-Weiss-Essen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panopticon 04 the free kick. The supporters of Panopticon 04 booed when Rot-Weiss-Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kryspin Banach didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper Uwe Ziege, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle, Panopticon 04 could leave the field as winners, despite Rot-Weiss-Essen having more of the ball for most of the match.
