Fernando Ruisko didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elvio Gaufred went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Vormsi Vald booed when El Millo de Haedo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remigio Uhin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in El Millo de Haedo's zone, Elvio Gaufred stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Ruisko came out of the goal and Elvio Gaufred tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Vormsi Vald's Carolo Ponce in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Fernando Ruisko made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Kalmer Laanemaa sent off a good shot on target. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hernán Crespo was the one to do the kick off. Evaristo Truylos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejo Urtun in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute of the match El Millo de Haedo got a corner. Vormsi Vald's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hernán Crespo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Hernán Crespo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Vormsi Vald's Evaristo Truylos did a great save. Fernando Ruisko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucjan Rakowski in the 55th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elvio Gaufred in the 57th minute of play forced El Millo de Haedo's goalkeeper Fernando Ruisko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hernán Crespo got free with Evaristo Truylos in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th minute Elvio Gaufred shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Ruisko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
