The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Vila Mascote FC's zone, Guaberto Koldobika stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Rosa came out of the goal and Guaberto Koldobika tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 5th minute, Aytunç Buminhan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kaká Mota struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Pedro Firman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vila Mascote FC. With a little luck, Vila Mascote FC's William Rosa got control of the ball when Arnaud Konieczny tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anton Best kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Yala's goal looked a bit too open when Zhang Zheng Liang came free, but Pedro Firman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vila Mascote FC's William Rosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Vila Mascote FC from getting a goal against them. William Rosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnaud Konieczny in the 21st minute. Pedro Firman came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Vila Mascote FC's Zhang Zheng Liang. But to his dismay, Zhang Zheng Liang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 27 minutes into the match, Vila Mascote FC's goalkeeper William Rosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnaud Konieczny. Natã Castro hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the match, Yala's Kristopher Le Saux sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that William Rosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luís Fabiano Eger hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Arnaud Konieczny left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yala fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. William Rosa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnaud Konieczny's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaká Mota in the 41st minute of play forced Yala's goalkeeper Pedro Firman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jean Sarmento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zhang Zheng Liang got free with Pedro Firman in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaud Konieczny in the 57th minute of play forced Vila Mascote FC's goalkeeper William Rosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yala's Pedro Firman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Mota in the 60th minute of play. William Rosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaud Konieczny, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaud Konieczny in the 63rd minute of play forced Vila Mascote FC's goalkeeper William Rosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Firman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaká Mota in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Vila Mascote FC booed when Yala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anton Best didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aytunç Buminhan kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Pedro Firman made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Jean Sarmento sent off a good shot on target. Pedro Firman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhang Zheng Liang, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Jean Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
