One of Club Deportivo Santiago:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO:s goal. Santino Mora went to the wrong direction when Jakes Vila was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Remigio Valerón made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Evelio Terres sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Alacuart in the 14th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Santiago's goalkeeper Santino Mora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Deportivo Santiago's Santino Mora played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jakes Vila in the 16th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goal looked a bit too open when Xaiver Bara came free, but Remigio Valerón reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santino Mora came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Jakes Vila. But to his dismay, Jakes Vila quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 32nd minute, Zeru Mendana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute, Jakes Vila left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 40th minute, Julio Alacuart got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 43 minutes of play, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Jakes Vila made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Santino Mora was left in no man's land by his defense there! 46 minutes into the match, Guillermo Rapado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Santino Mora. Club Deportivo Santiago's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guillermo Rapado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Leonardo Meca made in the 52nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Zuberoa Mesia however managed to control. Club Deportivo Santiago's Santino Mora played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jakes Vila in the 54th minute of play. Xaiver Bara charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xaiver Bara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Club Deportivo Santiago's defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Jakes Vila scored to the left of an out of position Santino Mora, making the score, 0-6. With his leg Santino Mora managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Jakes Vila fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jakes Vila in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santino Mora prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Alacuart could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Santino Mora made a huge save. Jakes Vila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Laerte Favoretto was substituted for Julio Alacuart. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guido Escobar got free with Santino Mora in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guido Escobar succeeded in the game's 81st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-8. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Remigio Valerón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zuberoa Mesia in the 88th minute of play. Club Deportivo Santiago's Arturo Montiel got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Santino Mora took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Escobar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
