Anders Larsson came out and tried to block the shot, but Corneliu Dridu slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 20th minute. Zenon Damazki hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Corneliu Dridu in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anders Larsson saved Club Atletico Fenix from getting behind. Corneliu Dridu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Anders Larsson made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Fenix's Jacinto Olentzaro got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Corneliu Dridu to make the kick off. Anders Larsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corneliu Dridu in the 51st minute of play. Dr Lecter SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Corneliu Dridu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anders Larsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dr Lecter SC made a substitution. Augustin Ţopescu replaced Válbson Batista. Dr Lecter SC's Wes Vranx was substituted for Dieguinho de Medeiros. Dr Lecter SC's Cosme Pere played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Olentzaro in the 93rd minute of play. Club Atletico Fenix's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
