Fryderyk Golembiewski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Filomeno Atarrabi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Mendoza, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. With an all-out effort, CF Apaches's Filomeno Atarrabi threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Géza Kodály, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Filomeno Atarrabi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Dembowski in the 37th minute. CF Apaches's Bogdan Kosakowski shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 41st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Filomeno Atarrabi but with some difficulty. A.D Atlético Villa Gesell's Filomeno Atarrabi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Géza Kodály in the 42nd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
