In the 11th minute Zeledon Sol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beat Leutwyler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute, Lázaro Lizbeth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gabriel Urtats showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximino Goi in the 20th minute of the match. Areco FC's Gabriel Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the 21st minute of play. With a little luck, B68 Toftir's Beat Leutwyler got control of the ball when Agustin Abaunza tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of B68 Toftir booed when Areco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Cristofor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gabriel Urtats made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lázaro Lizbeth in the 26th minute of play. Gabriel Urtats took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Maximino Goi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gabriel Urtats. Areco FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maximino Goi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Areco FC's goalkeeper Gabriel Urtats, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gabriel Urtats made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the 37th minute of play. In the 44th match minute, B68 Toftir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timmie Nyemanting to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Areco FC defense, Lázaro Lizbeth kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gabriel Urtats. The Areco FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gabriel Urtats should have stopped the shot. After the first half B68 Toftir were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

58 minutes into the game, Lázaro Lizbeth recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gabriel Urtats. Lázaro Lizbeth showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Gabriel Urtats when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gabriel Urtats showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Vázquez in the 75th minute of the match. Gabriel Urtats took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximino Goi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the match, Areco FC's goalkeeper Gabriel Urtats had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. 87 minutes into the game, B68 Toftir's Luis Vázquez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gabriel Urtats made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. B68 Toftir made a substitution. Bengt-Arne Blomberg replaced Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The crowd rose to their feet as B68 Toftir's Lázaro Lizbeth slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gabriel Urtats. That made the score 0-8 after 94 minutes of play. When the final whistle sounded B68 Toftir left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Areco FC.
