The supporters of Areco FC booed when Desafio FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lázaro Chucho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute Zeledon Sol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elvio Luix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Cristofor in the 10th minute of play forced Desafio FC's goalkeeper Elvio Luix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Desafio FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Igor Cristofor was slow to take the kick. During this time Areco FC's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Igor Cristofor in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elvio Luix saved Desafio FC from getting behind. In the 14th minute Areco FC were awarded a corner. Igor Cristofor went to the cornerflag to take it. After some careless play in the Desafio FC defense, Zeledon Sol kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elvio Luix. The Desafio FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elvio Luix should have stopped the shot. Elvio Luix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeledon Sol in the 20th minute of the match. Areco FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Igor Cristofor in the 21st minute. The corner led Areco FC's Igor Cristofor to fire away a dangerous shot which Elvio Luix despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Desafio FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zeledon Sol came free, but Elvio Luix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Igor Cristofor made a great header on Areco FC's corner, it was just that Desafio FC's Elvio Luix managed to reach the ball for a save. Elvio Luix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeledon Sol, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 32 minutes into the game, Areco FC's Agustin Abaunza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elvio Luix made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Elvio Luix was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Desafio FC's Elvio Luix proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Desafio FC from getting a goal against them. Vicente Huly hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. When Areco FC's Igor Cristofor in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 67th minute, Areco FC's Igor Cristofor ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Elvio Luix. Elvio Luix yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. After 70 minutes of play, Areco FC's Aquiles Pirro made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elvio Luix was left in no man's land by his defense there! Elvio Luix made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustin Abaunza in the 73rd minute. Agustin Abaunza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Elvio Luix when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Elvio Luix made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Agustin Abaunza sent off a good shot on target. The Areco FC fans' excitement grew in the 81st match minute when Areco FC's Igor Cristofor looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 85 minutes into the game, Igor Cristofor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-8. Elvio Luix was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Igor Cristofor walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 97 minutes into the match, Desafio FC's goalkeeper Elvio Luix had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agustin Abaunza. After 98 minutes Desafio FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Igor Cristofor who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Areco FC's corner Igor Cristofor fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Elvio Luix quite easily take care of the ball. When the match was over Areco FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Desafio FC throughout the match.
