After 40 played minutes Viver de Bet - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Vivaldo Quadros. Renatinho de Queiroz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nelson de Lima went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After the first half Real Cruzeiro FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Viver de Bet - FSCMZ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Real Cruzeiro FC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Renatinho de Queiroz, was totally fooled by Real Cruzeiro FC's Baltazar Zonta, who 98 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When the match was over Real Cruzeiro FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Viver de Bet - FSCMZ throughout the match.
