With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Meireles in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubinho de Amaral saved Real Cruzeiro FC from getting behind. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Real Cruzeiro FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gustavo Carrasqueira was slow to take the kick. During this time Exército Português's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Exército Português getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Robert Przybylski hit a great ball. A nice corner shot did that Tales Batista got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Laurențiu Gaciu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 35 minutes into the game, one of Exército Português:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Rubinho de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Carrasqueira in the 39th minute of play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bruno Soveral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tales Salgado hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Armando Meireles struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Rubinho de Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Exército Português. Baltazar Zonta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 54th minute Gustavo Carrasqueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rubinho de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Carvalhais in the 55th minute of play. Rubinho de Amaral came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Exército Português's Abel Carvalhais. But to his dismay, Abel Carvalhais quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo Carrasqueira got free with Rubinho de Amaral in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the match, Real Cruzeiro FC's goalkeeper Rubinho de Amaral had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruno Soveral. 66 minutes into the match, Real Cruzeiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Soveral came free, but Rubinho de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Real Cruzeiro FC's Rubinho de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Carvalhais in the 91st minute of play. Gustavo Carrasqueira took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rubinho de Amaral. Rubinho de Amaral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Exército Português's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
