When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Jeremias Tinoco took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Davide Franco to make any attempt to save it. 20 minutes into the game, Misericordia EC's Pedro Luís Amaral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Davide Franco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Locura Académica's Davide Franco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Locura Académica from getting a goal against them. Locura Académica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Zico Maravilha scored to the left of an out of position Davide Franco, making the score, 3-0. When Ronald Koeman came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Locura Académica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronald Koeman couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Jeremias Tinoco sped through Locura Académica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Davide Franco. Zico Maravilha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeremias Tinoco in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Davide Franco saved Locura Académica from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Urbano Ortega made a kick off. Jan Vertonghen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Davide Franco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Pedro Luís Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Misericordia EC fans jumped to their feet.
