An unexpectedly hard shot by Prudencio Isias in the 24th minute of play forced Jardim América FC's goalkeeper 高文川 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 高文川 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvaro Pagomari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marin Ştefănescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 高文川. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rogelio Velasco replaced Kostas Milonas. In the 81st match minute, The Waldos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kostas Milonas to maneuver through the defense.
