Karl-Johan Ahlqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mike Wadham in the 4th minute of the match. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camron Rhodes in the 6th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Enzo-Nicolás Pérez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16th minute D.J. Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Blacknell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denzil Howarth in the 19th minute of play forced Black Rose 1979's goalkeeper Karl-Johan Ahlqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 22 played minutes Black Rose 1979 got a freekick which was hit by Davor Šuker. Damian Dyson kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Black Rose 1979's Karl-Johan Ahlqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camron Rhodes in the 27th minute of play. Mike Wadham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Johan Ahlqvist having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 39 minutes, Grant Blacknell successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şükür Hagi in the 43rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Black Rose 1979 defense, Camron Rhodes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl-Johan Ahlqvist. The Black Rose 1979 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Johan Ahlqvist should have stopped the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and D.J. Gol made a kick off. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Şükür Hagi sent off a good shot on target. Grant Blacknell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaufred Betanzos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Black Rose 1979's Karl-Johan Ahlqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camron Rhodes in the 62nd minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Gaufred Betanzos notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Leicester Lions's Grant Blacknell. Grant Blacknell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mike Wadham in the 73rd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Black Rose 1979's D.J. Gol sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Grant Blacknell narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Black Rose 1979's Éder Neto got a free kick in the 75th minute. Antonio Gombal hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, D.J. Gol had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Grant Blacknell. Leicester Lions's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that D.J. Gol was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Patryk Plučinský sent off a good shot on target. Leicester Lions's Grant Blacknell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davor Šuker in the 95th minute of play. In the 96th match minute, Leicester Lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camron Rhodes to maneuver through the defense. Grant Blacknell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from D.J. Gol, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Black Rose 1979 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Leicester Lions had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
