In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nykvarn's goalkeeper Michel Kinell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Cornel Panaitescu sped through Nykvarn's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Michel Kinell. Michel Kinell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornel Panaitescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Nykvarn booed when Carpathians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cătălin Geangu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Michel Kinell made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Cornel Panaitescu sent off a good shot on target. If Cornel Panaitescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. During the 28th minute of the match Alf Hammarberg completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Alf Hammarberg a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Cornel Panaitescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michel Kinell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. When Ayvaz Tigin fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nykvarn's protests and gave Ayvaz Tigin a yellow card for diving instead. Ayvaz Tigin hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Carpathians's Stefan Dobay was substituted for Cornel Panaitescu. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomasz Czajka to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Stefan Dobay cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Michel Kinell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Stefan Dobay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Michel Kinell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefan Dobay, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Ercan Sabahaddin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Stefan Dobay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carpathians's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Dobay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michel Kinell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 76 minutes into the game, Carpathians's Stefan Dobay nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Michel Kinell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Ceferino Erroman hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Nykvarn's Michel Kinell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Dobay in the 81st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Stefan Dobay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carpathians's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Dobay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michel Kinell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Michel Kinell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leontin Ţurcaş, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Călin Ghioncu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomasz Czajka in the 86th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Dobay in the 89th minute of play forced Nykvarn's goalkeeper Michel Kinell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Carpathians fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when Carpathians's Stefan Dobay looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the referee ended the match the Carpathians players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
