Gwidon Michalski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Narciso Frechoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. After some careless play in the Velez sarsfield defense, Gwidon Michalski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Narciso Frechoso. The Velez sarsfield fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Narciso Frechoso should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gwidon Michalski in the 12th minute of play forced Velez sarsfield's goalkeeper Narciso Frechoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Gwidon Michalski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Narciso Frechoso was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. In the 17th minute Qin Kun Xi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Efren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Narciso Frechoso made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Nemesio Cordaryal sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Qin Kun Xi in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Guido Dalmai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Astor Efren having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Cristobal Quiroga in the 33rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Velez sarsfield's Raphael Leo. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Qin Kun Xi put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Astor Efren. Narciso Frechoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rio Uchiha in the 41st minute of the match. Astor Efren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Qin Kun Xi in the 43rd minute of play. Melquiades Ponce kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Qin Kun Xi in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Astor Efren saved Yupandú FC from getting behind. Agustin Bernaldo was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After the first half Velez sarsfield were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Qin Kun Xi to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Fabio Regis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Astor Efren. That made the score 1-4 in the 53 minute of play. Astor Efren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Qin Kun Xi in the 58th minute of the match. Qin Kun Xi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Astor Efren having to make a save. In the 62nd minute, Yupandú FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Qin Kun Xi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 62nd minute of the match, Qin Kun Xi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Astor Efren was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 63 minutes into the game, Qin Kun Xi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Astor Efren. Qin Kun Xi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. Astor Efren made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Alejo Larra sent off a good shot on target. Velez sarsfield's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fabio Regis in the 72nd minute. Emil Zbytniewski was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 75 minutes into the match, Yupandú FC's goalkeeper Astor Efren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walter Pico. 77 minutes into the game, Walter Pico cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Astor Efren was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In a very dangerous position, a player in Yupandú FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 82nd minute. Penalty! Walter Pico took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Astor Efren. Astor Efren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-8. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Emil Zbytniewski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Velez sarsfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Emil Zbytniewski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Astor Efren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Velez sarsfield's Walter Pico was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 92nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Yupandú FC's Astor Efren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walter Pico in the 96th minute of play. Velez sarsfield's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fabio Regis in the 97th minute. Velez sarsfield's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
