Neville Peach took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislao Cresitobalo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, Amputees FC's goal looked a bit too open when Maximino Ruy came free, but Neville Peach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Ivan Gentza managed to get in a good position for a shot. ATLETICO MENDOZA's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan Gentza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Neville Peach breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ivan Gentzas short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Neville Peach to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 23rd minute, Howie Withy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ATLETICO MENDOZA's Nicasio Elodio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lauder Franklin in the 34th minute of play. Nicasio Elodio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ed Mckinley in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carleton Howie made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Roach in the 53rd minute of play forced ATLETICO MENDOZA's goalkeeper Nicasio Elodio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carleton Howie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Nicasio Elodio made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Roach got free with Nicasio Elodio in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Gentza in the 66th minute of play forced Amputees FC's goalkeeper Neville Peach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, ATLETICO MENDOZA's Nicasio Elodio got control of the ball when Dagan Eicke tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of ATLETICO MENDOZA booed when Amputees FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pete Stebbing didn't get a good kick on the ball.
