The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kleanthis Manousaridis during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Toutourouki f.c. getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Kleanthis Manousaridis hit a great ball. After 33 played minutes FC Basel got a freekick which was hit by Long Dong. After some careless play in the Toutourouki f.c. defense, 狄迪傲 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tolis Mantouvalos. The Toutourouki f.c. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tolis Mantouvalos should have stopped the shot. Christos Taktikos hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Tolis Mantouvalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 狄迪傲 in the 40th minute of play. 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by Toutourouki f.c.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wojciech Kostka was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Basel's players had a chance to rest. The corner led FC Basel's Wojciech Kostka to fire away a dangerous shot which Tolis Mantouvalos despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Tolis Mantouvalos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Okanalp Tuncer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Panos Kallitzakis in the 46th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Panos Kallitzakis to strike the kick off in the second half. Tolis Mantouvalos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 狄迪傲 in the 52nd minute of the match. After 55 played minutes FC Basel got a freekick which was hit by Hugh Pope. 狄迪傲's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Tolis Mantouvalos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. FC Basel's supporters crossed their fingers, but 狄迪傲 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rd minute, 狄迪傲 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tolis Mantouvalos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. In the 81st minute, Christos Taktikos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Basel's Simon Wedlock was substituted for Long Dong. Toutourouki f.c.'s Tolis Mantouvalos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 狄迪傲 in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Nicolas Sarmento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 87 minutes into the match, FC Basel's goal looked a bit too open when Panos Kallitzakis came free, but Okanalp Tuncer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute, 狄迪傲 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 92 minutes into the game, Apostolos Malesios was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
